Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) With the recent rapid progress in handsets, the downsizing of their antennas is acquiring great importance. We have investigated a downsizing technique of antennas for handsets by utilizing magnetic materials. A planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA), which is one of the conventional antennas for handset, is used here. We used the Topology Optimization to find the effective material distribution and confirmed its validity as compared with the results calculated by other simulator. In this study, we make an experimental study about the effective material distribution obtained by the Topology Optimization in consideration of the volume of the magnetic materials.
