(in English) Speech is a highly flexible media for communication and conveys rich information on linguistic, para-linguistic, and non-linguistic contents. A tool that enables both close to natural remaking of speech and precise parametric manipulation is indispensable for investigating human performance in speech communications, because it consists of a huge amount of nonlinear components. STRAIGHT and its application to morphing were originally intended to promote such research strategies. This article summarized the impacts of STRAIGHT in speech research and introduces a new unified formulation underlying TANDEM-STRAIGHT.
