(in English) We investigated the relation between monosyllable perception obtained for monosyllable intelligibility inspection and mora perception in a word for word intelligibility inspection, using abnormal speech sounds of a glossectomized patient. The percent correct of the meaningful word was higher than that of the nonsense word. It has been clarified that the intelligibility of mora is restored even if there are abnormal morae in the word and that the mora with higher disorder level is more correctly perceived in the word than in the monosyllable. This result explains that it was caused by listener's top-down process, not caused by improving of speaker's word utterance ability. It was suggested that working of the top-down process was conclusive evidence of the word perception.
