A Study on Doppler Spread Compensation Method for OFDM Receiver

(in English) In the high-speed mobile communication systems, the transmission characteristics of OFDM systems are degraded due to the channel time-variation caused by the Doppler spread. For the channel estimation, a pilot symbol is periodically inserted and estimated transmission channel are interpolated. However high-speed movement needs more pilot symbols to estimate the accurate channel. In this instance, the transmitting efficiency would be down. Lowering the velocity of the receiving antenna relative to the ground reduces the channel time-variation. In this paper, in order to lower the speed of the antenna relative to the ground, we propose to use a rotating concyclic antenna. We confirm that time-variation of the channel is compensated by this method without interpolation method.
