TDL/IIR-TDL Adaptive Antenna Array Using Delayed Reference Signal

(in English) This paper shows that the characteristics of TDL or IIR-TDL adaptive antenna arrays are improved by using delayed reference signals. Adaptive antenna arrays using TDLs or IIR-TDLs have been proposed so that we could effectively use received signals even with the limited number of array elements. Conventional iteration formulas for updating weights with these arrays are very much complicated and requires some constrained conditions. In this paper, we propose a simple LMS-based algorithm for updating weights of IIR-TDL array and compare it with the conventional methods. Furthermore, we propose novel TDL or IIR-TDL arrays using slightly delayed reference signals in their iteration formulas. We confirm that the characteristics of TDL or IIR-TDL adaptive arrays depend on the number of delay samples of reference signals, and try to find the optimum delay samples. Then we evaluate the effectiveness of delaying reference signals by computer simulations.
