[Invited Talk] Trend of IP Mobility Technology for Next Generation Mobile Network

(in English) Since IETF standardized Mobile IPv4 as IP mobility technology of the Internet in 1996, Mobile IP has evolved as the main Host based Mobility technology. After RFC of Mobile IPv6 was released in 2004, extensions of Network Mobility and Fast Handover were standardized. Recently, Standardizations of Dual Stack Mobile IP that facilitates migration from IPv4 to IPv6 and Proxy Mobile IP of Network based mobility technology for applying to Mobile Operator Network are in progress. On the other hand, Mobile Network Standard Developing Organizations such as 3GPP, 3GPP2 and WiMAX are developing specification for All IP Network by using those Mobile IP technologies respectively. They are also developing specification of Interworking with the others. This paper shows trend of IP Mobility technology for Next Generation Mobile Network, and NEC’s activities related to IP Mobility technologies.
