A UHF passive type RFID tag has severe power restrictions, and in order to heighten signal output electric power for the purpose of long-distance-propagation of communication distance, an efficient power supply regenerative circuit is required for. Recently, it was reported that the power supply regenerative circuit of the form which used resonance positively can achieve higher power supply conversion efficiency than the form of obtaining the high voltage by a voltage multiplier circuit. However, the optimal circuitry as which the diode is contained and this circuit form considered the nonlinear parameter of the diode has not fully been discussed yet quantitatively. In this paper, under the minute input electric power of the power supply circuit for UHF passive RFID tags, optimization examination of the resonance design including the nonlinear capacitance of the diode by a circuit simulation was performed on the assumption that the composition which inserted the resonant circuit between the antenna and the rectification circuit. As a result, it turned out that the resonance design using the time average value of the junction capacitance in the OFF state of a diode can maximize power supply conversion efficiency. |
