Unified micro-cellular network providing polling-based IP transfer as a component network of 4G

(in English) This paper presents a combined network with a micro-cellular network and a paging network for the 4G mobile network. MM-MAN（Mobile Multimedia Metropolitan Area Network）which the authors have been studying can perform high-bit rate packet transfer to fast terminals with logical macro-cells of which each base station conducts polling. In the intermission between packet transfer sessions, terminals monitor a calling from the paging network instead of polling to identify the staying cell. If the calling is detected, the terminal answers the calling after finding the cell of the present stay. This paging works not only in MM-MAN but also microcells of other network if the terminal moves there. Roaming and handover works from one mobile network to other networks, and thus, the totalized micro-cellular network can be configured for the 4G.
