An inspection of skills of a computer and a literacy education for freshumen

(in English) A student who has learned the subject “Informatics” at a high school has entered since 2006. The freshman education at a university is influenced by the skills of the computer literacy of that student. Therefore, in order to check the computer skill, we executed the placement test at the identical level (conformed with the third-class at the personal computer examination) to the 2007 and 2008 freshmen of Faculty of Science and Technology. In this report, we want to compare the two years results of the placement test and the questionnaires about the computer skills and want to discuss the problems about the computer education for the freshman at Meijo University.
