Consideration about the validity of ASIO(Audio Stream Input Output)

(in English) In the Windows, the input/output of sound is usually performed by an audio driver to be called `MME'. However, it has been said that for the real-time sound processing of high quality, the input/output of sound by MME was inappropriate because a noise was big and furthermore the delay time was very long. Therefore in late years the ASIO of Steinberg company (Germany) has been attracting attention. In ASIO, we can input and output sound without the mixer of MME, and use more than 2 number of the channels and more than 16 number of the data length bits. But actually the validity of data length depends on the hardware of the input/output hardware. In this report, we try to discuss about the validity of ASIO.
