Design of a Ubiquitous Learning System for Enhancing Kids' Real Life Safety Knowledge

(in English) In recent years, with the development of computer technology, it is becoming realizable to use embedded micro-processors in order to provide a variety of services. Meanwhile, because children often do not have enough safety knowledge, coupled with their natural curiosity, accidents often occur when they are out of adult supervision. So it is very important to educate children in the aspect of safety in everyday life. But lessons by parents and teachers are not enough, because parents and teachers often don’t have enough time to teach safety knowledge in detail, and teaching in class can be boring and can’t be easily accepted by children. To solve this problem, we designed a real life based ubiquitous learning system to educate children safety knowledge. This system provides an interesting way for children to learn about safety using the cartoon element and step by step lessons on various topics. Moreover, this system also sends a voice alert message to parents and children when there are dangerous situations around children.
