Validity of High-Frequency Solution for Ground Wave Propagation over Land-to-Sea Mixed-Path

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we shall derive first the integral representation for the ground wave propagation over the land-to-sea mixed-path by applying the aperture field method. Then by using the saddle point technique applicable uniformly as the saddle point approaches the end point of the integral, we shall derive the asymptotic representation for the mixed-path ground wave propagation and examine the cause of the recovery effect occurring on the side of the sea over the land-to-sea mixed-path propagation. The recovery effect may be explained by using the scattering coefficient and the attenuation function over the sea. By comparing both with the mixed-path theory and the experimental results, we will confirm the validity of the asymptotic representation proposed in the present study.
