Numerical investigation of microwave response properties of long Intrinsic Josephson junctions

(in English) In order to fully understand a relationship between microwave-induced steps and the Josephson plasma resonance observed in Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CaCu$_2$O$_{8+x}$(Bi-2212) intrinsic Josephson Junctions, we have performed a numerical simulation using the coupled sine-Gordon equations including material parameters of Bi-2212. For an external microwave frequency lower than the Josephson plasma frequency fp, the simulation demonstrated that the motion of fluxons produced by the microwave irradiation induced a supercurrent with a frequency higher than fp. For the external frequency higher than fp, an electromagnetic distribution in the junctions showed the plasma cavity resonance induced by the external waves with any power. Moreover, a step-like structure was obtained in an I-V characteristic under the microwave irradiation when the cavity resonance occurred.
