Simultaneous switching noise (SSN) on the power/ground planes is becoming one of the major bottleneck for designing the high speed mix-signal system. In this paper, a new planar electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure embedded in power plane is proposed for ultra-wideband SSN suppression in multilayer printed circuit boards. The SSN suppression bandwidth is broadened to cover almost the whole noise band. Full-wave simulations and experiments are performed to verify the broadband SSN suppression and high performance. |
