Bit timing recovery scheme using DCT for wireless broadband QAM systems

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, high speed data transmission is required in satellite communication systems. In these systems, a demodulator oversamples broadband received signal, thereby the power consumption increases in proportion to data sampling speed. To solve this problem, we have proposed a novel timing recovery scheme using Discrete Cosine Transform(DCT) which requires sampling speed of only two samples per symbol. In this paper, we report availability of the proposed scheme for QAM modulated signals such as 16QAM and 64QAM. The proposed scheme is useful to demodulators in broadband satellite communication systems using QAM modulation.
