Multicast Routing Protocol in Tree-based Wireless Mesh Networks

(in English) For simple and efficient usage of wireless resource, a proactive routing protocol of wireless mesh networks (WMNs) employs a tree-based architecture, in which a root node becomes a gateway that linked with other nodes. Though the tree-based approach is well-suited for WMNs' architecture, efficient multicast protocols in WMNs cannot be deployed by adopting or slightly modifying the existing multicast protocols. Therefore, in this paper we propose a novelty multicast routing protocol to accommodate data forwarding efficiency among a set of nodes for WMNs. Simulation results over NS-2 network simulator reveals that our proposed multicast routing protocol accomplishes much better performance than other unicast and multicast protocols for both traffic 1-to-N video streaming and N-to-N teleconferencing.
