Multicast Tree Discovery with Selective Router Access based-on Unicast Routing Information

(in English) Recently, broadcasting service for large content with IP multicast has increased. The multicast tree is dynamically changed due to the join/leave of the receivers or route changes. It is necessary for the network or service management to monitor the multicast tree continuously and exactly. In this paper, we present a multicast tree discovery scheme with a little router access based-on unicast routing information and multicast feature. In the simulation, we also confirmed our proposed scheme reduced more than half of router accesses compared with the simple router access scheme, which uses hop-by-hop trace in the source-to-receivers direction.
