Study on Beam Calibration Accuracy of Phased Array Antenna

(in English) Beam calibrations of phased array antennas using the REV method have been developed and tested, but there have been no researches on the calibration accuracy obtained by this calibration method. In this paper, we reveal the theoretical relationships between the beam calibration accuracy and errors due to the variation of feed network properties of antennas and thermal noise. We derive the theoretical beam pointing error and the reduction of antenna gain after the beam calibration. Through the numerical simulations and the experiments, we confirmed the validity of the theoretical beam calibration accuracy.
