This paper proposes a new service system architecture based on the location information obtained from a GPS embedded cell phone, a mobile telecommunication network, the Internet and a home electronics network. First, the location monitoring system that is integrated with cell phones and GoogleMaps is described. The movement history and location accuracy are confirmed by an experiment covering different types of district and environment. An intelligent environment system that controls the air conditioner automatically without any user operation is proposed as an example of a service for amenity enhancement. The location information system estimates the location of the room owner and triggers the appropriate command to the air conditioner. It is confirmed that the room temperature can be controlled before the owner’s arrival in the room. |
