Effects of Refractoriness of Chaotic Neurodynamics for Acceleration of Learning of A Pattern Sequence Detector

(in English) The primary purpose of this study is to reveal the effects of refractoriness on learning. More specifically, we simulated that Elman network which consists of chaos neurons learns a pattern sequence using the back-propagation algorithm. The learning time was reduced by the refractoriness to 1/5. In this report, we analyzed the required number of hidden neurons and asynchronous activities of hidden neuron’s refractoriness. The results suggest that the refractoriness contributes to efficient encoding of hidden layer. In addition, we improve the understanding of the mechanism that refractory effect accelerates the learning.
