A Vehicle Identification Using Fisheye Camera

(in English) In this paper, we describe on a method for vehicle identification using a fisheye camera. The camera can catch a surface of a passing vehicle continuously in relatively wide area. In the method, vehicle’s front view, top view, and back view are handled. A correlation between input view images and reference view images is calculated by matched filter. Then a type of the vehicle is judged using the correlation value on each view. In the paper, the vehicle identification method is explained, and the experimental result is shown.
