Evaluation of the Interference Avoidance Method between RFID Systems with Considering Interference Zone Radius Distance between Channels

(in English) In a long range RFID system, since the communication distance is several meters longer than that in conventional RFID system, the method of avoiding the interference among systems is necessary. Various methods for avoiding the interference, such as carrier sense method, mirror subcarrier one and listen before talk (LBT) one, have been considered so far, but when there are a lot of readers and tags in the small area, these methods cannot sufficiently suppress the interferences between the reader and tag. Interference zones can be estimated by the location information of reader and thus the frequency and time channel can be assigned to each reader in order to avoid the interference. In addition, recently, the dependence between the interference geometric distance among the readers and the frequency distance between channels has been clarified. In this report, we consider the interference avoidance method of assigning the frequency and time channels to reader with using the information of the reader position. From the computer simulation, we show that the number of required time slots for avoiding the interference can be reduced and the frequency utilization efficiency can be increased when the dependence between the interference geometrical distance between readers and the frequency distance between channels is taken into account.
