Perception of bistable apparent motion with motion in depth

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This research investigates if the factor of proximity affects the perception of bistable apparent motion stimulus for which either a motion on frontal planes or a motion in depth can be perceived. The stimulus, which is a dynamic random-dot stereogram, was displayed on a stereoscope. When the distance of the motion on the frontal plane was kept the same, shorter distance in depth resulted in perceived motion on the frontal plane, and longer distance lead to perceived motion in depth.
