A reliable path control method is necessary for large telecommunication networks to limit a network damage. A lot of previous studies focus on the minimization of a network cost under the conditions that all demands of paths are known and a network does not change. But these conditions are not realistic in a world-wide large network.
In this paper, we propose a reliable and efficient path control method that determines not only the route of a path but also backup routes and their capacities under the conditions that the demand of paths fluctuates and the topology of a network changes. In addition, we propose a network design method to make a network that the proposed path control method effectively works. |
