In the progress of globalization, there is a possibility for these people to improve their situation using information and communication technology. For an example, broadcast and mobile phones are spreading into many developing countries and economical gaps caused by a lack of information are being reduced in the countries. The people, called Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP), is a new huge market for semiconductor business in the near future. We have to consider BOP not merely a market of our products but our opportunity to contribute happiness of the human beings globally, and catch the real requirements in BOP.
