Estimation of Diversity Effect by Correlation of Antenna Directional Patterns
Fumihiro Terada, Mitoshi Fujimoto, Toshikazu Hori (Univ. of Fukui) AP2008-121
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A diversity effect can be estimated from signal correlation between the branches in generally. It spends much time for the evaluation to estimate the diversity effect by computer simulation with considering not only the antenna characteristic but also the propagation characteristics. We can estimate easily if the diversity effect can be estimated from antenna characteristics of respective branches.
In this paper, a technique to estimate the diversity effect from correlation of antenna directional patterns is considered. Through examination, it was shown that the diversity effect could be estimated in the case of the small mobile terminals. In addition, it was also found that a covariance of complex directional pattern could be suitable for estimate the diversity effect.
