Evaluation of carrier injection process under AC electric field using organic EL

(in English) Electrons and holes were injected alternately from Au source electrode into tetracene and the electroluminescence (EL) was generated by the recombination of them in accordance with applying square wave AC voltage to the source electrode of tetracene field-effect transistor (FET). This type of EL was localized at the interface between the source electrode and the tetracene. The energy depth of the trapping states could be estimated from the analysis of EL spectrum. The EL decayed periodically and the decay had a certain time constant. We could understand the carrier behavior with the analysis of this decay. The space charge field effect could be also estimated using the AC voltage with DC bias voltage.
