Sink Routing on Static Ad Hoc Networks -- The Reduction to Network flow problem --
Yoshihiro Kaneko (Gifu Univ.) AN2008-60
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Here in this report, “static” means “no moving during communication”. Some sensor networks, for instance, assumes that all nodes never move after they are deployed at the beginning. Aside that, some MANET models assume that nodes collect topology information around them and transmit it to distinguished nodes such as source or sink, where such information is processed. Recently some network models relevant to MANET have these two assumptions simultaneously, which seems to delete mobility and distribution from usual MANET model. In this report, we say such routing situation to be “sink routing on static ad hoc networks”, which we should deal as graph/network research plus something rather than MANET research. Something here means how to get topology information efficiently through that model. As a measure of transmission cost, we define node and link occupation. In viewpoint of that measure, we compare two typical transmission ways.
