We have developed a two-channel automatic-gain-control transimpedance amplifier IC by using InP heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology. The single-ended maximum S21 was 28 dB and the 3-dB bandwidth was 19 GHz. The estimated maximum differential transimpedance gain is 68 dB$\Omega$. This IC is compatible with an electric dispersion compensator,
and is suitable for assembling a single-package two-channel balanced photoreceiver for a compact and functional 43-Gbit/s optical differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DQPSK) receiver. |
