We propose a packet scheduling algorithm and subchannel allocaiton to improve the total throughput performance of traffics while satisfying Quality of Service (QoS) of each traffic in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system compared to the conventional algorithm and subchannel allocation. The proposed algorithm introduces the ratio of the instantaneous packet loss rate to the maximum allowable packet loss rate as the parameter of the packet loss rate for RT (Real-time) traffic in the decision of QoS satisfaciton indicator for RT traffic and the ratio of the instantaneous throughput to the minimum reserved data rate as the parameter of the minimum reserved data rate for nrtPS (non real time Polling Service) connection in the decision of QoS satisfaction indicator for nrtPS connection. The proposed subchannel allocaion allocates subchannels to users in order from the subchannel which acquires the minimum mumber of users being able to allocate the maximum bit rate in each subchannel.
Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme is able to satisfy the packet loss rate for RT traffic and provide better performance of user rate satisfying the minimum reserved data rate for nrtPS connection and better total throughput performance for traffics. |
