When realizing a high quality reception signal of the terrestrial digital broadcasting TV, understanding of detailed propagation structure, such as direction of arrival (DOA) and delay spread characteristics is very important. Although an array antenna is useful for the DOA measurement, it is necessary to enlarge the number of array elements compared with the number of paths, and the signal of all the brunches must be received simultaneously. Moreover, since a known broadband signal as a pilot signal is needed at the reception side for prediction of delay profile, a useful and simple measurement technique is not established so far. In this paper, we propose a new scheme where two signals, one is the reference signal with high SNR received at a good line-of-sight position, and the other is the signal that we want to measure are received simultaneously. The scheme is realized based on the total recording system that we have developed using a PC. Through offline signal processing, actual measured data is analyzed in terms of DOA and delay distribution with extremely high accuracy. |
