An Improved Calibration Scheme for Mechanical Distortions of Satellite Phased Array Antennas

(in English) Some mechanical distortions of satellite phased arrays can be electrically calibrated by compensating the phase differences due to element coordinate variations. However, accurate calibrations cannot be achieved if the signal to noise ratio (S/N) is low during the measurement of the compensating phases. In this report, an improved calibration scheme is proposed for lower S/N measurements. In the proposed scheme, the measured phase distribution is approximated to a linear function of element coordinates and the derived linear phase distribution is set to each element. Additionally, a theoretical study is carried out to investigate the calibration accuracy attained by the proposed one. Some experiment results validate the proposed scheme and the theory of the calibration accuracy.
