This report presents a sensing technique for the spectrum sharing system by a existing system, called
primary system, and a new wireless radio system which equips the cognitive radio techniques and called secondary
system. We focus on the cooperative sensing technique where observations by secondary users are fused to achieve
accurate detection performance. It has been known that a usage of weight based on received signal power can
improve the sensing performance. However, it is difficult to estimate the received signal power in such a low SNR
environment. In this report, we tackle this problem. First, received signal power estimation accuracy is deteriorated
by detection failure. In addition, we assume a fading environment which makes the estimation difficult. Multiple
antenna elements technique is employed and we have evaluated the weighted cooperative sensing with the multiple
antenna elements and shown that a suitable performance can be achieved in low SNR and fading environment. |
