Super Hi-Vision (SHV) is an extremely high-resolution imagery system. Its video format uses 7680 x 4320 pixels (16 times the pixels of HDTV) and it employs a 22.2 multi-channel audio system to create excellent sound-field reproduction and a wide listening range. We are researching next-generation high-efficiency network device technology and ultrafast LAN-SAN technology which enables SHV signals to be transmitted with low electricity consumption, by using ultra high-speed NICs. In order to examine fundamental techniques for multiplexing multi-channel SHV signals into multi-channel STM-64 frame signals, experimental equipments were designed and manufactured. |
