Optimization of Sampling Interval in Track Initiation Problem for Low SNR Target

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In radar tracking, the performance for target track initiation deteriorates under low SNR environments. In order to overcome the issues, radar detection threshold must be lowered. However a large number of false alarms are detected at the same time and tracking cannot give a full performance due to mis-association. In this paper, we apply Multiple Hypothesis Tracking(MHT). To utilize limited power effectively, we have to optimize observation frequency and signal SNR in one scan, which have trade-off relationship. Through simulations, we show that the smaller the constant radar power is, the larger signal SNR in one scan is needed(Observation frequency must be lowered).
