String Detection from Scene Images Using NAT Method and Edge Information

(in English) In this paper, string detection method from scene images using NAT method, color information and edge information is persented. NAT method is a thresholding method for document image binarization. When some contrast is maintained and characters are distant from each other, the string detection method using NAT method can detect strings well. However, it is difficult to detect string accurately becase of change of illumination and low-contrast. So, the method using color information robust to lightning change is presented. Moreover, the method using edge extraction can detect overlapped characters and small strings.
