A Study on Location Estimation Method for Cognitive Wireless Network Using Dynamic Spectrum Allocation

(in English) It is necessary to estimate the location of users in order to establish networks which provides desired information to users according to their given conditions. Therefore some location estimation methods for wireless network are proposed, which utilize recieved power.

However it is difficult to utilize traditional location estimation methods in cognitive wireless networks using dynamic spectrum allocation because the usable frequency for each user is a collection of spectrum spots.
So this paper proposes the location estimation method using spectrum intensity for cognitive wireless networks.
This location estimation can be performed without influence of the spectrum spots used by other users in the same communication channel.
The architecture of FFT circuit is also proposed. The FFT circuit can calculate spectrum intensity. The number of cycles for both input and output of data is reduced by using characteristics of dynamic spectrum allocation. The proposed architecture is implemented in 13,169 gates by using 0.13 $\mu$m CMOS technology.
