MIMO-OFDM Maximum Likelihood Detector Employing Spatio-Temporal Filters to Supress Co-Channel Interference

(in English) This report proposes a reception scheme for a MIMO-OFDM downlink system that performs the maximum likelihood detection using spatio-temporal filters to suppress co-channel interference. At first, since filter coefficients of the spatio-temporal filters can be derived from an autocorrelation matrix of the interference and noise, the proposed scheme estimates the autocorrelation matrix and channel impulse responses of desired signals. For this estimation, the eigen-value decomposition (EVD) is applied to an autocorrelation matrix of received signals and known preambles. To improve accuracy of the estimation furthermore, the proposed scheme updates the autocorrelation matrix of the interference and noise by temporally averaging replica errors obtained from detected signals. Computer simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme can improve the accuracy of the parameter estimation and the bit error rate even under severe interference conditions.
