A study on Signal Discrimination for Cooperative Relay using Cooperative Coding and Iterative Decoding Techniques in Multi-node Relay System

(in English) This paper proposes a cooperative relay scheme using a cooperative coding and iterative decoding for
binary phase shift keying (BPSK) employed systems. In the proposed scheme, a relayed packet is encoded with
another packet that should originally be transmitted by the relay node in a cooperative manner. In the destination,
the signal from the relayed node is combined with its original signal that was already received with its lower signal
level. At this stage, the received signal from the source node and that from the relayed node can be regarded as an
in-phase and quadrature-phase (I-Q) imbalanced quaternary PSK (QPSK) signal. The proposed scheme discrimi-
nates the packet signals using a bit interleaved coded modulation-iterative detection (BICM-ID) in which low-power
signal directly received from the source node acts as a side-information to remove ambiguity in the coded bits coming
from the relay node.
