A Dual Polarization 8-port MIMO Antenna with Dipole and Slot Antennas.

(in English) It has been reported that the characteristic of channel capacity is improved when directional antennas and dual polarization are used at the access point in indoor MIMO system.
This report presents the antenna consisting of the half-wave dipole antenna in the horizontal polarization element and cavity slot antenna in the vertical polarization element for dual polarization of 4$\times$4 MIMO system.
The tilt angle of radiation pattern is changed by the size of ground plane and the element location.
First, to understand the basic characteristic, the antenna parameters are optimized for a single element.
In 4-element array,
deterioration in the directivity by the mutual coupling is observed.
To obtain low mutual coupling, the partition inside the cavity is examined.
The partitions suppress the mutual coupling, then we obtain the characteristics of the tilt angle of $60^\circ$ in the vertical plane and $94^\circ$ of half power beam width.
