| (in English) | IPTV services are becoming popular in the Internet. However, the optimal pricing method for IPTV has seldom been discussed. In VOD type IPTV services, the maximum number of streams depends on the server capacity. If the number of users’ requests is more than the maximum number of streams, users’ requests will be blocked. If the number of subscribers increases, the provider’s revenue will increase. However, the blocking probability will also increase, and the user’s utility will decrease. In order to maintain QoS, the provider must have more server capacity. This means that the server cost will increase. This paper shows the relation between the viewing price and the users’ benefit, and that between the viewing price and the provider’s profit for various server capacity. The optimum viewing price for the users’ benefit and that for the provider’s profit are different. To solve this problem, Nash bargaining solution is calculated by using game theory. | |
