(in English) Cognitive radios that would share the spectrum with the spectrum-owned radios require the detection capabilities of existence of not only spectrum-owned radios but also cognitive radios. For orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radios, a differentiated bandwidth structure that the cognitive radios use at the lower number of subcarriers than the spectrum-owned radios use is proposed to simultaneously detect the both types of radios. Subtractions of subcarrier powers within the spectrum allow the cognitive radios to detect the existence. The proposed differentiated bandwidth structure is analytically evaluated by means of the characteristic function method.
