Performance Evaluation of Over-the-air Inter-node Carrier Phase Synchronization for LTE-Advanced

(in English) This paper presents performance evaluation of over-the-air inter-node carrier phase synchronization proposed in [1] for LTE-Advanced. In performance evaluation, one of the two nodes updates its carrier frequency and carrier phase every 5ms or 10ms. Numerical results show that the proposed method maintains constant inter-node carrier phase
offset with alignment error less than 5 degrees. The proposed synchronization requires about 0.12% of total radio resources
assuming 100 MHz system bandwidth in LTE-Advanced. It is also revealed that the proposed method achieves accurate synchronization with feasible amount of signaling and complexity.
