This paper evaluates performances of single carrier based spectrum-overlapped resource management (SORM) using single carrier transmission for higher order modulation. In the SORM, each user's spectrum can be allocated according to its own channel condition, and stochastically overlapped spectrum can be discriminated by employing a iterative turbo equalization for the multi-user detection (MUD), which can gradually cancel inter-user interference (IUI) as well as inter-symbol interference (ISI), thereby we can achieve high frequency selection diversity and flexible resource allocation. However, when higher order modulation such as 16-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (16QAM) is used, the Euclidean distance in the constellation is shorter. In this case, it is more difficult that turbo equalization is successfully converged when modulation level is higher. Therefore, in this paper, we evaluate the transmission performances in the case of higher order modulation, and appropriate overlapping rate for each modulation level. |
