Multiclass Identification of Driver Cognitive Distraction with ECOC Method

(in English) Driver monitoring is quite important for active safety to prevent traffic accidents, because a lot of accidents are caused by drivers’ psychosomatic states.
Cognitive distraction that is like conversation and thought during driving has potential hazards and has caused a number of accidents.
Identification of cognitive distraction has already been done, but multi-class identification of cognitive distraction has not reached yet.
This paper suggests multiclass identification method with ECOC method which is one of multi-class classification using biological information as features.
Using two identification methods, optimal combination of the features and classification methods were considered to get higher identification capability.
Consequently, good results were produced.
