In this study, we propose new two-echelon repair models for the systems consisting of multiple items to amend the conventional repair models. The first model assumes that the repair men in the depot repair all kinds of items. The second one assumes that there is no time delay between the time instants of failure occurrence in a base and the dispatch of a spare item from the depot to the base, if a spare is available. Then we present approximation methods for analyzing these models. The accuracy of the approximation solutions is shown to be satisfactory by comparing them with simulation results. |
