Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Computer simulation using Finite Element Method(AMSYS10.0) was achieved assuming fat (Elasticity modulus 18kPa), mammary glands (Elasticity modulus 28kPa), and breast cancer (Elasticity modulus 108kPa). Poisson’s ratio was assumed to be 0.49 for each tissue.
The shape of fat was hemisphere of diameter of 0.04m, while the shapes of mammary glands and breast cancer
Was assumed to be sphere of o,o1m in diameter. The phantom was pressed from up word by uniform pressure of 5kPa. These results were taken as kind of experiment. From these results the ratio of thickness of each tissue R=(thickness of tissue after pressing/ thickness of tissue before pressing) was obtained. Iteration calculations were achieved where assuming certain elasticity modulus, the ratio R’ for each tissue were calculated. Comparing R and R’, feed back if R’ is smaller than R, then elasticity modulus were made a little bigger and vice versa. After 12 times iteration, elasticity modulus of original value are a obtained within the error of 10%. In addition real phantom experiments were achieved, where fat was created by ultra soft urethane resin, mammary glands and breast cancer by
Silicon resin of different kind. The phantom was pressed by water bag, where cross section of phantom was depicted by ultrasound echo technique. The iterative simulation was then achieved with favorable results.
