In this paper, we measured transmission loss characteristics of the power line and PHY rate through the PLC modem in order to examine the influence that the transmission loss characteristic of the power line with the branch gives to PHY rate of the OFDM signal. The branch length of the power line was lengthened so that the attenuation peak was created in the frequency band used in the PLC modem, and the regular attenuation of 50dB also was inserted so that PHY rate could be measured near the state of the transmission limit. Moreover, PHY rate of the PLC modem was calculated by MATLAB/ Simulink, and compared with the measured one. |
