(in English) A Projection-based olfactory display that uses an air cannon allows us to deliver smells locally, both spatially and temporally. This device can deliver smells to a specific user, without letting other people notice smells. However, the tails accompanied by vortex rings cause undesired smell diffusion, which reduces the performance of smell localization. In this paper, we examined effects of the actuation parameters of an air cannon on the behavior of a vortex ring and its tail, using computer fluid simulation.
