Super High Temporal Resolution MRI movie for Observing Dynamic Aspects of Speech Organs

(in English) This paper proposes an MRI scanning method for super high temporal resolution movie to observe aspects of speech organs which moved or oscillated in high frequency. For this method, speech sound of a subject acquired by an optical microphone and magnetic gradient field derived from a coil are recorded simultaneously to know timings of vibrator phase and beginning of TR (Repetition Time). And then, sorting read-out line of k--space and reconstructing images in every frame as a post--processing.
Short acquisition time is also effective to obtain a high frame rate MRI movie. This paper shows a MRI movie of a phantom with vibrator scanned by using the proposed method and compares it and a movie taken by a high speed camera. In this scanning experiment, maximum number of frames per one second is 6384. Moreover, it shows an MRI movie of alveolar trill uttered by a subject.
